1. Who can participate in Charity Bike ‘n’ Blade 2007?

Cyclists who have experience in long-distance cycling. As the rides are expected to stretch over 7 hours, you should be in good physical condition and have ridden at least 100 km in a single session.

In addition, due to safety and logistical reasons and depending on the outcome of the proficiency assessment as well as any requirements which may be imposed on the event by the authorities in Singapore and Malaysia, the organisers may have to cap the number of participating cyclists and inline skaters .

Please note that the organisers reserve the right to withdraw any cyclist(s) / inline skater(s) from participating in the event without furnishing any reason or grounds.

Cyclists are expected to ride the entire route. However, they may organise themselves into relay teams with no more than 3 riders per team. In order to minimise logistical issues and inconvenience, relay cyclists are encouraged to share the same bicycle as the organisers have not made provisions for equipment transportation in this regard.

Participants will have to provide their own equipment (Road Bicycles or In-line Skates, as well as any replacement parts). In addition, all participants will receive a helmet and a jersey, courtesy of our event sponsors.

7. Are there training sessions conducted prior to the event, and are they mandatory?

The organisers will arrange training sessions for both cyclists and inline skaters. These training sessions have been designed to help participants improve their physical endurance. Although these training sessions are not mandatory, participants are encouraged to attend in order to attain a minimum level of physical conditioning.

Participants are also expected to train on their own time and be responsible for their own level of fitness. This applies especially to participants of the Malaysia-Singapore leg. It will help make the actual 400 km Bike ‘n’ Blade event more achievable and enjoyable.
